NYPD releases photos of UnitedHealth CEO shooting suspect

Dana Thiede at KARE 11 reports the New York Police Department has released photos showing a “person of interest” in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson. A post on the NYPD News X channel shows a young man in a hooded coat standing at a counter with no mask, and asks anyone who recognizes him to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Jake Offenhartz, Michael Balsamo and Michael R. Sisak at the Associated Press are reporting the masked gunman who stalked and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel used ammunition emblazoned with the words “deny,” “defend” and “depose,” two law enforcement officials said Thursday.

Deena Winter at the Star Tribune reports the Minneapolis City Council voted Thursday to nix a city plan to overhaul the area where George Floyd died 4½ years ago and instead pursue the creation of a pedestrian mall in the area around 38th Street and Chicago Avenue.

Jeff Day at the Star Tribune is reporting Barry Butzow, a prominent Twin Cities racehorse owner and businessman, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a bartender who worked a private party at his Eden Prairie home earlier this year.
